Tanks en leidingen

Before the pleasant work can be done, the dirty work must be done first. We have already installed new drain pipes, for the cockpit drainage and for the sink in the galley. A new cooling water valve has also been installed and the weed pot mounted. Now the fuel tank. A remnant of red diesel has been fired in the stove of the Palustris and what remains is sludge and a hard brownish "cake" against the walls and bottom of the tank. Upside down and maneuvering myself into impossible positions, with a wire brush angle grinder, the tank is clean again today. I have tapped the threaded ends of the manhole cover and cleaned them of rust as far as possible. Stainless steel was apparently rare in 1974. But everything is back together and now only the pipes need to be connected.
